ghost in the mirror

 Weighty Ghost by Wintersleep

 This song always grabs me.
It reminds me of when I catch a glimpse of a past me in a reflection and I go back to look but that person is gone
... of when I remember something that happened a long time ago and realize that me is still somewhere inside but everything is different
... of dreams that I sense I've dreamed but can't bring to my consciousness when I'm awake
I wonder where that me went, and am amazed at how swiftly I transform in my life from real to a ghost

"Weighty Ghost"

I got out of bed today, swear to God, I couldn't see my face
I got out of bed today, staring at a ghost
Who forgot to float away, didn't have all that much to say
Wouldn't even tell me his own name
And where'd my body go

Where, oh, where'd my body go?
Africa or Mexico?
Where, oh, where'd my body go?
Where'd my body go?

Have you seen my ghost?
Seen my ghost, seen my ghost?
Oh, have you seen my ghost
Staring at the ground?
Have you seen my ghost?
Seen my ghost, seen my ghost?
Oh, have you seen my ghost?
Sick of those goddamn clouds

Are you some kind of medicine man?
Cut the demons out of my head
You can't kill something that's already dead
So leave my soul alone
I don't need no surgery
Take those knives away from me
Just wanna die in my own body
A ghost just needs a home

Have you seen my ghost?
Seen my ghost, seen my ghost?
Oh, have you seen my ghost
Staring at the ground?
Have you seen my ghost?
Seen my ghost, seen my ghost?
Oh, have you seen my ghost?
Sick of those goddamn clouds

Awake my Soul

 Awake My Soul

Mumford and Sons

I will never tire of this song!
Here is a youtube link where Jon Batiste plays with Mumford and Sons

How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyesI struggle to find any truth in your liesAnd now my heart stumbles on things I don't knowMy weakness I feel I must finally show
Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them allBut lend me your heart and I'll just let you fallLend me your eyes I can change what you seeBut your soul you must keep, totally free
Har har, har har, har har, har har
Awake my soulAwake my soul
How fickle my heart and how woozy my eyesI struggle to find any truth in your liesAnd now my heart stumbles on things I don't knowMy weakness I feel I must finally show
Har har, har har, har har, har har
In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will dieAnd where you invest your love, you invest your lifeIn these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will dieAnd where you invest your love, you invest your life
Awake my soulAwake my soulAwake my soulFor you were made to meet your maker
Awake my soulAwake my soulAwake my soulFor you were made to meet your makerYou were made to meet your maker
